The KENNAMETAL 1925140 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for finishing operations in steel and hardened materials exceeding 60 HRC. Part of the HPBNDM series, it features a 0.1875-inch mill diameter with a matching 0.1875-inch length of cut, a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank, and a 3.0-inch overall length. The extended-reach geometry and low 15-degree helix angle make it well suited for deep-pocket finishing where rigidity and controlled chip evacuation matter. A TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection in high-hardness cutting environments. Installation and use require a CNC machining center operator or skilled manual mill operator familiar with carbide tooling handling procedures.
This end mill is intended for finishing cuts in ferrous materials, particularly hardened steels. The center-cutting design supports plunging and ramping entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The 0.0938-inch nose radius, 0.7141-inch neck length, and 0.9016-inch reach length allow access to confined features and deep wall profiles common in die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision machined parts requiring tight tolerances in hard material stock.
Designed for machining steel and hardened materials with a hardness greater than 60 HRC. Primary workpiece material codes P and H per the HPBNDM series specification. Fits any standard 1/4-inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder accepting a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is de-energized before mounting or removing the end mill. Use a calibrated collet or precision end mill holder to stay within the shank diameter tolerance of +0.0000/-0.0031 inches. Solid carbide tooling is brittle — avoid impact loading, side pressure during clamping, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces.
