The KENNAMETAL 1913631 is a taper length drill bit engineered for high-performance metal cutting in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN, it delivers excellent heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The bit measures 10.2 mm in diameter with an overall length of 141 mm (5.55 inches) and a flute length of 94 mm (3.70 inches). The 132-degree point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry improve chip evacuation and reduce entry force. Coolant-through capability supports consistent temperature control during deep-hole operations. A straight cylindrical shank measuring 12 mm in diameter seats securely in standard toolholders.
This drill bit is designed for machining cast iron and steel in production environments where tool consistency and hole quality are critical. The DIN 6537K specification and right-hand spiral flute geometry make it suited for CNC machining centers and drill presses running moderate to high spindle speeds. Typical applications include precision hole-making in automotive, die-and-mold, and general metalworking shops. The maximum drilling depth reaches 79 mm (3.11 inches), making it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in medium-thickness workpieces.
Rated for use in cast iron and steel workpiece materials. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses equipped with toolholders accepting a 12 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is seated and torqued in the holder per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines before beginning a cut. Verify coolant-through lines are connected and flowing before drilling to protect both the tool and workpiece. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 79 mm in a single pass without a peck-drilling cycle.
