The KENNAMETAL 1913609 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding production environments. It measures 16.00 mm in diameter with an overall length of 133.00 mm and a flute length of 83.00 mm. The 140-degree split point and web-thinned geometry reduce entry thrust and improve centering on hard or interrupted surfaces. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when drilling at elevated cutting speeds. This drill is intended for use by machining professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are priorities.
This drill is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, making it well matched to deep-hole drilling applications where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. The straight cylindrical shank accommodates standard drill chucks and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders with a matching 16 mm bore. It conforms to DIN 6537L specification, making it a recognized standard for jobber-length carbide drills used in metalworking and precision machining.

Installation and operation of carbide drills should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling setups. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are fully de-energized and at rest before inserting or removing the drill. Confirm the toolholder bore and clamping mechanism are clean and free of runout before securing the shank. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to side loads, interrupted cuts beyond tool rating, or improper feed rates that can cause fracture.
