The KENNAMETAL 1913527 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer TiAlN coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The 7.00 mm diameter bit features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive entry and reduced thrust, a web-thinned parallel web configuration for improved chip evacuation, and coolant-through capability to manage heat in deep-hole applications. At 79.00 mm overall length with a 34.00 mm flute length, it is optimized for short, rigid setups typical of CNC machining centers and screw machine operations.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling in cast iron and steel workpieces across light manufacturing, precision machining, and automated screw machine work. The straight cylindrical shank at 8.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard collet chucks and drill chucks. Its compact screw machine length profile provides rigidity and minimizes deflection in high-cycle operations. The TiAlN coating is particularly effective in dry or minimal-lubrication machining where surface temperatures run high. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolroom environments are the primary users of this tool.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting an 8.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Falls within the Series B976 drill family covering the 6.50 mm to 8.00 mm diameter range per DIN 6537K.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and all energy sources locked out per applicable safety procedures. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the chuck or collet before tightening to prevent runout. Coolant-through operation requires compatible toolholding and spindle coolant delivery; verify system pressure matches the tool and application requirements before cycling. Inspect the cutting edges and flutes for wear or chipping at regular intervals, as carbide tools can fail suddenly without visible pre-failure deformation.
