The KENNAMETAL 1913526 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and cast iron workpieces. Built from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish, it delivers extended tool life in demanding production environments. The 6.80 mm diameter bit features a 140-degree point angle for precise entry and reduced thrust, along with a web-thinned parallel web configuration that improves chip evacuation. At 3.1102 inches overall length, it fits compact drilling stations where standard-length bits are too long. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this bit in CNC and manual drilling operations requiring tight tolerances and consistent hole quality.
This bit is suited for production drilling in cast iron and steel, including both manual and CNC screw machine setups. Its straight cylindrical shank with an 8.00 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard collets and drill chucks. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, making it practical in high-speed machining cells where heat management is critical. The maximum drilling depth is 24.00 mm, and the flute length is 34.00 mm, keeping chip flow controlled in short-to-medium depth holes. It conforms to DIN 6537K, the standard governing short carbide drill dimensions and tolerances.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces as part of the KENNAMETAL B976 series screw machine length drill program. Compatible with standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks sized for an 8.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and setup should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the recommended grip depth before running. When using coolant-through capability, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant flow before engaging the coolant supply. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use; carbide is brittle and can chip if subjected to side loading or interrupted cuts beyond its design range.
