The KENNAMETAL 1913458 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish, it delivers hardness and thermal resistance needed in demanding production environments. The bit measures 3.50 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a total overall length of 62.00 mm (approximately 2.44 inches). A web-thinned geometry reduces thrust forces at entry, and the straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chucks. This bit is intended for use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working with cast iron and steel.
This drill bit fits screw machine length applications where a shorter, more rigid tool is required to minimize deflection and improve hole location accuracy. It is suited for drilling in cast iron and steel workpieces in both manual and CNC drilling operations. The straight shank and 6.00 mm shank diameter make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems found in production machining setups. The 14.00 mm maximum drilling depth and 20.00 mm flute length are calibrated for shallow to medium-depth holes typical in screw machine work.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine length drill bit in the Kennametal B966 series, suitable for cast iron and steel workpieces in CNC and manual drilling applications requiring a straight-shank carbide tool in the 3.50 mm to 5.00 mm diameter range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended engagement depth and ensure the spindle is at zero RPM before loading or removing the bit. Carbide tools are brittle and should not be used for interrupted cuts or in applications with excessive runout. Follow the machine manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling in the target workpiece material.
