The KENNAMETAL 1910215 is a CNMG433RP-style turning insert in the KENLOC series, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process over a solid carbide substrate. Rated under the KC5010 manufacturer grade, this insert delivers high to moderate wear resistance with toughness across a range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 12.9 mm (0.5077 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 3/64-inch corner radius (0.0469 inches), and a thickness of 3/16 inch (0.1875 inches). The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and negative rake angle make it well-suited for roughing and medium machining operations in turning, facing, and boring applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary installers.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials. The RP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing to medium machining passes, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The neutral hand orientation and four available cutting edges make this a versatile option for standard CNMG toolholders used in both CNC turning centers and manual lathes. The insert meets ANSI and ISO dimensional standards under ANSI code CNMG433 and ISO code CNMG120412, and carries material grades C3 and C4.
Designed for use in standard CNMG-style toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick insert with a 0.2031-inch hole diameter and negative side clearance. Suitable for ANSI CNMG433 and ISO CNMG120412 seat configurations. Multi-use application covers turning, facing, and boring operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Use the appropriate torque driver for clamp screws per the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not over-torque, as this can crack the carbide substrate.
