The KENNAMETAL 1905695 is a CNMG643RP-geometry turning insert in the KENLOC series, manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake and clearance configuration. It measures 19.34 mm (0.7616 inches) in length with a 3/4-inch inscribed circle and a 3/64-inch (0.0469 inches) corner radius. The RP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining operations. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC turning specialists working in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining operations.
The 1905695 is suited for external turning, facing, and boring applications on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Its KC5010 grade targets steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium, delivering high to moderate wear resistance and toughness across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The negative side clearance and chamfered-honed cutting edge support stable cuts under interrupted or continuous conditions. It is appropriate for both roughing passes and transitional medium cuts where chip control and edge integrity are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-grade replacement or direct-fit insert for KENLOC-series toolholders accepting CNMG643 geometry inserts. Conforms to ANSI insert code CNMG643 and ISO insert code CNMG190612. Verified compatible with clamp and pin holding methods.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified fastener procedure — do not overtighten the clamp screw. Verify insert seating and edge orientation before resuming cuts, and confirm chip breaker orientation matches the intended operation direction.
