The KENNAMETAL 1871021 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation DCMT432LF and ISO designation DCMT150408, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process under the KC5010 manufacturer grade. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive rake angle of 5 degrees with a positive side clearance. The insert measures 15.50 mm (0.6102 inches) in length with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0313 inches) corner radius. Designed for the LF chip breaker geometry, it targets finishing and light machining operations. The screw-on holding method and honed cutting edge style make it a reliable choice for precision turning applications.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations in a wide range of workpiece materials. Installation Notes

Insert installation and replacement should be performed by qualified machinists following the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for screw-on DCMT-style inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key torque driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw without over-tightening.
