The KENNAMETAL 1869967 is a CCMT3251LF indexable turning insert with a KT315 cermet substrate and a multilayer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle of 5 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining operations. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches and a corner radius of 0.0156 inches, the insert delivers tight tolerances and sharp, honed cutting edges on two usable cutting positions. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in screw-on toolholders for production and precision turning applications.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces where high wear resistance is the primary requirement. The cermet base material combined with PVD multilayer coating delivers consistent tool life at finishing depth-of-cut levels, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). It carries both ANSI designation CCMT3251 and ISO designation CCMT09T304, making it compatible with standard CCMT-style screw-on toolholders used throughout CNC and manual turning centers in residential shop, job shop, and production machining environments.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-on toolholders conforming to ANSI CCMT3251 and ISO CCMT09T304 specifications. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) workpieces. Material grades C3 and C7 apply.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and screw size specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the screw-on insert to avoid seat damage or insert cracking. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specified for this insert geometry, as over-engagement during finishing operations can cause premature edge failure.
