The KENNAMETAL 1866959 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation CCGT32505HP and ISO designation CCGT09T302, finished in a PVD-applied TiAlN coating and assigned manufacturer grade KC5025. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. It measures 9.67 mm in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a corner radius of 0.0079 inches. Two cutting edges are available per insert. This insert is designed for finishing operations in turning, facing, and boring applications and is held in place via screw-on mounting.
The 1866959 is intended for finishing cuts on stainless steel and superalloys as its primary workpiece materials, with solid capability across steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The KC5025 grade delivers moderate wear resistance combined with moderate toughness, making it suited for controlled-depth finishing passes where surface finish and edge integrity matter. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm. The insert is compatible with both ANSI and ISO tooling standards, supporting flexible deployment across CNC lathes and boring setups in job shop and production environments. This part is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use in screw-on style toolholders accepting CCGT32505 ANSI or CCGT09T302 ISO insert seats. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring operations per input data.
Machining inserts of this type are installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the screw-on clamp to avoid cracking the carbide body — do not over-tighten by hand or with standard screwdrivers. Inspect the insert seat and clamp pocket for chips or debris before seating a new edge.
