The KENNAMETAL 1866569 is a solid carbide turning insert carrying the industry standard designation CCGT325X0LF in the KC5025 grade. It features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering moderate wear resistance and toughness across a broad range of workpiece materials. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle and positive side clearance geometry produces clean, controlled cuts at light depths. The LF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and light machining operations. The insert mounts via screw-on holding method and presents two usable cutting edges per insert, making it a cost-effective choice for precision turning applications in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for CNC and manual lathes performing turning, facing, and boring operations. This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screw to seat the insert properly in the pocket — do not overtighten by hand estimation. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to avoid seating errors that affect tool runout and surface finish.
