The KENNAMETAL 1832359 is a TNMG434MP turning insert in the KC5010 grade, designed for general and high-wear-resistance turning applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, which provides thermal stability and extended tool life across a range of workpiece materials. It features a triangular shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0625-inch corner radius, and a neutral hand orientation. The MP chip breaker geometry supports both roughing and medium machining operations, making it a versatile option for production turning environments.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The KC5010 grade targets high wear-resistance to moderate wear-resistance and toughness across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. It is intended for use in KENLOC-series toolholders and similar negative-style clamping systems that accept TNMG-style inserts. Typical use cases include high-volume production turning and finishing passes where consistent tool life and chip control are priorities.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting TNMG-style inserts with clamp or pin holding methods. Compatible with negative-rake toolholder systems. Suitable for multi-use applications including turning, facing, and boring on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians following standard lathe lockout and toolholder seating procedures. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and pocket stop before tightening the clamp or pin. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for debris or wear before each insert change to ensure proper seating and edge repeatability.
