The KENNAMETAL 1832355 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TNMG332MP designation, part of the KENLOC series. It carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting environments. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. With six available cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert is suited for high-productivity turning, facing, and boring operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops and production environments will recognize this as a general-purpose finishing and semi-finishing insert for difficult-to-machine materials.
This insert is designed for primary use on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. The MP chip breaker geometry supports stable chip formation across a range of feed rates and depths of cut. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm), it is best applied in light to moderate finishing passes. It is held by clamp and pin methods, consistent with standard TNMG-style toolholders. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries material grades C3 and C4.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before clamping. Use the appropriate torque wrench per the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications — do not overtighten the clamp screw, as this can damage the insert or alter seating geometry.
