Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 1832318 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG431MP geometry, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process and manufactured to the KC5010 grade. It carries a 55-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The insert measures 15.50 mm (1.2208 inches) in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and 3/16-inch thickness. Four cutting edges are available per insert, making it a cost-effective tooling option for production environments. It belongs to the KENLOC series and is designed for demanding material removal applications where edge wear resistance is critical.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The MP chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style are optimized for medium-duty passes where chip control and edge stability are priorities. The negative rake angle and PVD TiAlN coating work together to extend tool life when cutting ISO material groups P, M, and S. It is a multi-use insert appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes within its maximum depth-of-cut range.

Compatibility
