The KENNAMETAL 1819519 is a WNMG433FP grade KC5010 solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal in CNC turning, facing, and boring operations. It features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that delivers high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 8.69 mm in length with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle and a 3/64 inch corner radius. The FP chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts, producing consistent chip control at light depths of cut. With 6 usable cutting edges and a neutral hand designation, this insert suits a wide range of KENLOC-style toolholding setups. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for finishing applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The KC5010 grade provides high to moderate wear resistance and toughness across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. Typical applications include external turning and facing on medium to small diameter workpieces, as well as internal boring where a compact trigon geometry is required. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm, making this insert most productive in light finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the priority.
Designed for use in KENLOC-style toolholders accepting WNMG433 geometry inserts with clamp or pin retention. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications across ANSI and ISO standard tooling systems.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the insert pocket and locating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench for clamp screws as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the cutting edge condition after each pass during initial setup to confirm chip breaker performance at the intended feed and depth of cut.
