The KENNAMETAL 1819514 is a VNMG332FP turning insert in the KC5010 grade, designed for use in CNC and manual lathe operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. This solid carbide insert carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which supports thermal resistance and edge retention during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It belongs to the KENLOC series and is suitable for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible VNMG toolholders on production turning equipment.
This insert is suited for a wide range of turning center and lathe applications including turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. The FP chip breaker geometry with a 15-degree rake angle and honed cutting edge style is well-matched for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and stainless steel. Its negative rake configuration and four available cutting edges make it a practical choice for shops running high-volume jobs on P, M, and S workpiece material groups. Each insert delivers up to a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm).
Designed for use in VNMG-style toolholders compatible with the KENLOC clamping system. Suitable for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards for VNMG332 geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification to seat the insert securely against the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge to ensure accurate positioning and prevent premature edge failure.
