The KENNAMETAL 1819501 is a TNMG332FP turning insert in the KC5010 grade, designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert delivers high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The triangular insert shape provides 6 usable cutting edges with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It belongs to KENNAMETAL's KENLOC series and is sized per ANSI code TNMG332 and ISO code TNMG160408. Installation is handled via clamp or pin holding methods.
The 1819501 insert is suited for finishing passes in turning, facing, and boring applications. Its FP chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style make it well-matched to light-to-moderate material removal where surface finish and dimensional control are the priority. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and superalloys and titanium. It also performs in cast iron and aluminum applications. The KC5010 grade is characterized by high to moderate wear resistance combined with adequate toughness, making it a practical choice across general-purpose turning work in production environments.
Designed to ANSI standard TNMG332 and ISO standard TNMG160408. Compatible with KENLOC series toolholders and any standard TNMG-style clamping or pin-lock toolholder accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle triangular insert with a 3/16-inch insert thickness and 0.150-inch hole diameter.
Turning inserts are installed and serviced by machinists and CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper registration and cutting edge geometry.
