Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 1819357 is a VNMG331FP turning insert in grade KT315, manufactured from cermet substrate with a multilayer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN. It carries a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a 1/64-inch corner radius suited for finishing operations. The insert measures 16.61 mm (approximately 0.654 inches) in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 3/16-inch thickness. Four cutting edges are available per insert. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC turning centers and manual lathes using clamp or pin holding methods.

This insert is designed for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and K. Its FP chip breaker geometry controls chip flow during light-to-moderate finishing cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm). Typical applications include turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Installation Notes

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped.
