The KENNAMETAL 1818112 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the NGD3062K designation within the Top Notch series and is finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating to resist heat and extend tool life in demanding cuts. The insert has a 1.58 mm cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 3.18 mm, and a positive rake angle of 10 degrees that promotes clean chip flow. Right-hand orientation and a K-style chip breaker make it suitable for finishing and light-to-medium grooving passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible Top Notch-style toolholders.

This insert is intended for grooving applications in metalworking environments where tight groove width tolerances and controlled chip formation are required. The KC5010 grade is a PVD-coated carbide grade suited for finishing and semi-finishing of steels and other materials. Material grade classification is C3 and C4.
