The KENNAMETAL 1805382 is a carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the A2 insert style, it carries the KC5025 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that provides wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed cut-off work. The insert measures 3.00 mm in cutting width with a 4.66 mm cutting height, a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, and a 2-degree relief angle. A CR chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation. Machinists and tooling setters working in production turning environments install this insert using a mechanical clamp-style holder.
This insert is suited for cut-off and parting applications in production turning, whether on standard lathes or automated CNC turning cells. The right-hand lead angle and CR chipbreaker make it appropriate for general-purpose parting on steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials within the C2 and C6 material grade classifications. It fits holders with an insert seat size of 3 that accept the A2 series insert style. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; package quantity is 1 per pack.

This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the clamp holder pocket and verify clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating to prevent insert rocking or premature breakage.
