The KENNAMETAL 1805013 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for use in indexable drilling toolholders operating in demanding metal-cutting applications. It carries the DFTHP designation, combining the DFT insert style with an HP chipbreaker geometry engineered to manage chip flow in deep-hole and through-hole drilling operations. The insert is coated via PVD process with TiN and TiCN layers under the KC7140 manufacturer grade, which targets C5 and C6 material grades. Key dimensions include a 15 mm (0.5906 inches) inscribed circle, a thickness of 0.2067 inches, and a 0.80 mm (0.0315 inches) corner radius. The trigon shape with an 84-degree included angle and an 8-degree relief angle suits production drilling environments where insert indexability and edge consistency matter.
This insert is suited for production machining shops, job shops, and aerospace or general manufacturing environments running indexable drill bodies that accept DFT-style trigon inserts.
