The KENNAMETAL 1803432 is a right-hand indexable cutoff toolholder designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It accepts A2030-series inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method, providing rigid, repeatable positioning during cutoff work. The toolholder supports a maximum depth of cut of 26 mm (1.0236 inches) and handles workpieces up to 2.44 inches in diameter. The 3/4 x 3/4 inch shank fits standard tool posts and quick-change systems common in production turning environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will recognize the A3 series designation as a reliable platform for high-volume parting applications.
This toolholder is suited for use in both job-shop and production turning environments where consistent cutoff performance and fast insert indexing are required. It is oriented for right-hand cutting, making it appropriate for conventional lathe setups where the tool approaches the workpiece from the operator side. The insert seat size 3 accommodates the corresponding A2030-series insert geometry. Applications include barstock parting, shoulder grooving, and profile grooving on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces up to 2.44 inches in diameter.
Designed for use with A2030-series indexable inserts, insert seat size 3. Also referenced under manufacturer number A3SCR/L120326. Confirm insert series and seat size before ordering replacement inserts.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before seating or indexing inserts. Secure the shank fully in the tool post or quick-change holder to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the tool post in use - do not rely on hand-tightening alone. Verify tool centerline height relative to workpiece centerline before initiating a cut, as incorrect height alignment accelerates insert wear and can cause chatter or tool failure during parting operations.
