The KENNAMETAL 1802567 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CPMT3252MW geometry, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process and offered in the KC5010 grade. This screw-on style insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle and positive side clearance, making it well suited for efficient chip control during turning, facing, and boring operations. The MW chip breaker is designed for medium machining applications. The insert measures 9.67 mm (0.3808 inches) in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 5/32-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. Two cutting edges are available per insert. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling precision turning work will find this insert appropriate for demanding material groups.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring applications on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron workpieces. The KC5010 grade targets a range from high wear-resistance to moderate toughness across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The chamfered and honed cutting edge style contributes to edge stability in interrupted and continuous cuts alike. It is particularly suited to CNC lathes and turning centers where screw-on toolholders with CPMT-compatible pockets are in use.
Designed for use in screw-on CPMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. Fits pockets designated for CPMT3252 (ANSI) or CPMT09T308 (ISO) insert geometry. Suitable for multi-use applications including turning, facing, and boring on CNC lathes and turning centers.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is removed or locked out before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to drive the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating the insert, and confirm the cutting edge orientation matches the intended operation before resuming cutting.
