Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder secured in a safe position before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating each new insert to ensure proper contact and edge registration.
