The KENNAMETAL 1743902 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting internal UN threads in a right-hand orientation. Carrying the ISO code LT11NR20UN and manufactured to the KC5025 grade, this insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability during threading operations. It runs at 20 threads per inch with a 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.126 inches (3.04 mm). Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert into compatible toolholders for precision thread-form work on turned or bored features.
This insert is suited for threading operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Its NR insert style and size code 11 geometry make it a common choice for internal threading on CNC lathes and turning centers in production and job-shop environments.
