It accepts a nominal collet size of 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) with a minimum collet capacity of 0.1475 inches, providing a defined clamping range suitable for small-diameter tooling. The collet delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0152 mm (0.0006 inches), making it appropriate for applications where concentricity and tool accuracy are critical. Overall length is 1.339 inches (34.01 mm). This collet is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with ER25-compatible spindles and toolholders.
The 1729855 is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC mills, and drill presses equipped with ER25 collet chuck systems. Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Before inserting or removing the collet, ensure the machine spindle is powered down and all motion has stopped. Seat the collet fully into the ER25 nut before threading onto the chuck body, and tighten using an appropriate ER collet wrench to the chuck manufacturer's specified procedure. Do not overtighten the collet nut, as this can distort the collet bore and increase runout.
