The KENNAMETAL 1719252 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to the ISO designation SEKR1203AFENGP and graded KC725M. It carries a square insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 90-degree included angle, making it suited for right-angle and shoulder milling operations. The insert features a PVD-applied TiN/TiCN/TiN multilayer coating that provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. With a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, a thickness of 0.1201 inches, and a corner radius of 0.0433 inches (1.10 mm), this insert is designed for precise, repeatable cutting performance. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is intended for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. It fits into screw-clamped toolholders accepting the SEKR series insert style and is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes where edge stability and coating durability are priorities. The GP chip breaker geometry supports general-purpose cutting across these demanding material groups. Typical use is in production machining environments on CNC vertical or horizontal milling platforms.
Designed for use in SEKR-series screw-clamp milling toolholders accepting a size 42 square insert with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle. Compatible material grades are classified as C5, C6, and C7.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and all axes locked. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure when seating the insert with the screw-clamp method. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Never attempt to index or replace inserts while the spindle is energized.
