The KENNAMETAL 1712552 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for internal ISO thread cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Configured in a right-hand orientation with a 1.50mm pitch, it carries the KC5025 manufacturer grade and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. The 3/8 inch (9.53mm) inscribed circle and 3.44mm thickness conform to standard LT16NR toolholder pockets. The CB chipbreaker geometry supports controlled chip flow during internal threading passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this insert in production turning environments where consistent thread form and tool life are priorities.
This insert is suited for internal ISO-standard threading applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials across light to medium cutting conditions. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection in interrupted or dry cutting scenarios. It fits 16NR-series toolholders designed for laydown insert geometry.
