The KENNAMETAL 1623279 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VBGT332HP geometry, grade KC5410, designed for high-precision finishing of aluminum and non-ferrous metals. It features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a 5-degree relief angle, making it well-suited for light, accurate cuts with excellent surface finish. The insert carries a TiB2 PVD coating engineered for high wear resistance on non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a honed cutting edge and HP chip breaker, this insert delivers consistent chip control during finishing passes. It is sold individually but must be ordered in multiples of 5.

This insert is intended for finishing operations on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and similar materials. It is rated for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. The screw-on holding method and VBGT insert style make it compatible with standard toolholders designed for that insert geometry. Installation Notes
