The KENNAMETAL 1561813 is a solid carbide milling insert with ISO code LFEW220408FRLN, manufactured to the KC510M grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating. Designed for use in milling operations, this right-hand insert features a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle and a relief angle of 25 degrees. The insert measures 0.875 inches in length, 0.625 inches in width, and 0.1875 inches in thickness, with a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch). The LN chip breaker geometry and screw-in holding method make it a reliable choice for production milling in industrial and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is suited for milling applications across a range of workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, K, N, and H. The LFEW series geometry and KC510M grade combination address a broad spectrum of roughing and semi-finishing milling scenarios. The PVD TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making this insert appropriate for both dry and light-coolant milling passes on compatible toolholders that accept LFEW-style inserts.
Designed for use in milling toolholders that accept LFEW-series rectangular inserts with screw-in clamping. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard materials per ISO codes P, K, N, and H.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per established LOTO procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure without over-torquing the screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Verify insert orientation for right-hand cutting direction before resuming machine operation.
