The KENNAMETAL 1545215 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting internal threads in through-hole applications. It produces M5 x 0.8 Metric Coarse threads to a 6H class of fit with a D4 thread limit, making it well-suited for work requiring close dimensional control. The plug chamfer allows the tap to start easily in a drilled hole and progresses the thread form through the workpiece. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS taps. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians are the typical users.

This tap is rated for use in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. It is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where metric through-hole threading is required. Installation Notes
