The KENNAMETAL 1544816 is a spiral point plug tap designed for right-hand threading in a range of ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tap produces 1/4-20 UNC threads and is configured with 2 flutes in a plug chamfer profile. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cut, making it well suited for through-hole tapping operations. The H2 thread limit provides a close tolerance fit appropriate for standard UNC fastener applications. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a thread length of 1.0 inch and a shank diameter of 0.255 inches.
