The KENNAMETAL 1519286 is a replaceable-tip drill body engineered for precision hole-making in metalworking and machining applications. It accepts KSEM1094 series inserts at seat size 6, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without removing the body from the tool holder. The drill covers a diameter range of 27.78 to 28 mm (1.0937 to 1.1024 inches) and reaches a maximum drill depth of 196 mm (7.72 inches), representing a 7xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Through-coolant capability with a 4 mm (0.1575 inch) coolant hole keeps the cutting zone cool and aids chip evacuation during deep-hole operations. This tool is typically installed and operated by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.
The 1519286 is suited for production drilling in vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and CNC turning centers where consistent bore diameter and deep-hole capability are required. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 31.75 mm in diameter and 82.55 mm (3.25 inches) in length, making it compatible with standard hydraulic, shrink-fit, and collet-style toolholders sized for that shank diameter. It is well-suited for steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpiece materials common in general metalworking, automotive component production, and die and mold work.
Designed for use with KSEM1094 series replaceable-tip inserts at insert seat size 6. The 31.75 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard hydraulic, shrink-fit, and collet-style toolholders rated for that shank diameter. Part of the KSEM series modular drill platform.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in an e-stop or fully powered-down state and all stored energy released. Ensure the insert seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating a new KSEM1094 tip. Verify coolant port alignment between the tool body and toolholder before clamping. Follow the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures for rotating cutting tool installation.
