The KENNAMETAL 1519270 is a replaceable-tip drill body engineered for deep-hole drilling applications in metal cutting and machining operations. Designed for the KSEM series, this drill accepts KSEM0875 insert tips at seat size 4, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped out without replacing the entire body. The shank diameter measures 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) in a straight-cylindrical profile, and the overall length is 276.23 mm (10.875 inches). Through-coolant delivery is supported via a 3.50 mm (0.137 inch) coolant hole, keeping cutting temperatures controlled during deep passes. Machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments will find this body suited to demanding drilling cycles.
This drill body is rated for a maximum drilling depth of 168 mm (6.61 inches) at a 7xD depth-to-diameter ratio, placing it in the deep-hole category for its diameter range. It produces hole diameters from 22.23 mm to 22.73 mm (0.875 to 0.895 inches) depending on the insert tip selected. The KSEM series is commonly used in CNC machining centers and turning centers for drilling steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The replaceable-tip design reduces tooling cost per hole by extending the body life across multiple insert changes.
Designed for use with KSEM0875 series replaceable insert tips at seat size 4, within the KENNAMETAL KSEM drill system. Compatible with CNC machining centers and turning centers equipped to accept a 25.4 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer and KENNAMETAL tooling assembly procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before handling or changing insert tips. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw driver per KENNAMETAL KSEM assembly instructions - do not overtighten the insert clamping screw by feel alone. Verify shank seating and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a drilling cycle.
