The KENNAMETAL 1329705 is a replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision hole-making in metalworking and machining operations. Part of the KSEM series, it accepts KSEM1000 insert tips at an Insert Seat Size 5, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without replacing the entire drill body. The 1329705 covers a drill diameter range of 25.4 to 25.9 mm (1.0000 to 1.0197 inches) and reaches a maximum drill depth of 130 mm (5.12 inches). Through-coolant capability is built in via a 4 mm (0.1575 inch) coolant hole, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in demanding production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or high-volume production settings are the primary users.
This drill body is suited for CNC machining centers and turning centers where consistent, repeatable hole quality is required in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 31.75 mm fits standard toolholder bores common on machining center spindles. With a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio and an overall length of 247.65 mm (9.75 inches), the 1329705 is configured for intermediate-depth drilling where rigidity and coolant delivery are priorities. It is appropriate for high-production environments where insert indexability reduces per-hole tooling cost.
Compatible with KSEM1000 series replaceable-tip inserts at Insert Seat Size 5. Part of the KENNAMETAL KSEM series drill body platform.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool path program must be verified before mounting the drill body in the toolholder. Confirm the toolholder bore matches the 31.75 mm straight-cylindrical shank before clamping. Torque the insert tip according to the KENNAMETAL KSEM insert installation documentation supplied with the insert — do not substitute generic torque values. Connect the through-coolant supply line and verify coolant flow before initiating the first cut.
