The KENNAMETAL 1328590 is a steel indexable boring bar with toolholder style A-SCLC, designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 3/4-inch shank diameter, a minimum bore diameter of 0.930 inches (23.62 mm), and a 10-inch overall length, making it well-suited for moderate to deep bore applications. The -5 degree lead angle and neutral rake geometry support stable cutting in a wide range of materials. CC-style inserts are retained by a screw-clamping method for positive, repeatable positioning. A built-in coolant-through port with a 1/8-27 NPT thread allows directed coolant delivery at the cutting edge.
This boring bar is intended for use in metal-cutting environments where precise internal diameter machining is required. It is installed by machinists and tooling setup technicians on CNC turning equipment. Right-hand cut orientation suits standard spindle rotation on most turning centers. The coolant-through design makes it a practical choice for deep-bore applications where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. It accepts CC-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 5/32-inch thickness.
Designed for use with CC-style inserts (3/8-inch inscribed circle, 5/32-inch thickness) on CNC lathes and turning centers with tool blocks or turrets accepting a 3/4-inch round shank boring bar.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing the boring bar. Ensure the shank is properly seated and clamped to the specified torque in the machine turret or tool block per the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Verify insert seating and screw torque before initiating a cut, and confirm coolant line connection to the 1/8-27 NPT port when coolant-through operation is used.
