It features a TiAlN PVD coating applied over a carbide substrate, delivering high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The insert carries a 60-degree triangular shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius optimized for finishing operations. With a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a honed cutting edge, it is engineered for light, precise cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert in screw-on style toolholders for turning, facing, and boring applications.
This insert is suited for finishing passes on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in both job shop and production environments. The HP chip breaker geometry targets finishing cuts with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm), making it appropriate for close-tolerance work on steel and stainless components.
