Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 1310726 is a solid carbide turning insert with the CCGT2151LF geometry and KC5010 manufacturer grade. It features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering high wear resistance across steel, stainless steel, and superalloy workpiece materials. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a strong cutting geometry suited to finishing and light machining operations. With a positive rake angle of 5 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle, this insert is optimized for clean, efficient cuts at light depths. It is installed using a screw-on holding method and is intended for use by machinists and turning specialists in CNC lathe and boring applications.

This insert is designed for finishing and light machining on CNC turning centers, facing operations, and boring applications. It performs across a range of primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and aluminum. The LF chip breaker geometry is tuned for light chip loads, making it well suited to close-tolerance finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand toolholders configured for screw-on insert retention.

Key Features

  • KC5010 grade with TiAlN PVD coating for high wear resistance on steel, stainless, and superalloys
  • 80-degree diamond (rhombic) CCGT insert shape with positive rake for reduced cutting forces
  • LF chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing and light machining chip loads
  • Screw-on insert holding method for secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders
  • 2 cutting edges per insert for extended tool life per unit
  • Maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm) suitable for finishing passes

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for screw-on style turning toolholders accepting CCGT2151 geometry inserts per ANSI and ISO standards (ANSI: CCGT2151, ISO: CCGT060204).

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw and ensure the screw torque is consistent with the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for debris or wear before seating the insert.
