The KENNAMETAL 1281819 is an external, right-hand indexable threading toolholder designed for precision thread-cutting operations on turning centers and manual lathes. Part of the KENNAMETAL LT Threading series, it accepts LT 22ER inserts held by a clamp-style insert holding method, providing reliable insert retention during threading passes. The shank measures 1 inch wide by 1 inch tall with an overall length of 6 inches. The head length is 1.2 inches, and the back-of-bar to cutting edge distance is 1.25 inches. At 1.7086 pounds, the holder offers a solid, rigid platform suited for consistent thread form accuracy in production environments. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC turning technicians.
This toolholder is engineered for external threading applications on workpieces requiring a right-hand cutting direction. The LSS toolholder style and 1 inch square shank cross-section make it compatible with standard square-shank tool blocks and turret stations commonly found on production turning equipment. It is well suited for shops performing high-volume threading operations where repeatable insert indexing and rigid tool clamping are priorities. The 0.5 inch insert inscribed circle accommodates LT 22ER series threading inserts. Coolant-through capability is not included in this holder.
Designed for use with KENNAMETAL LT 22ER series threading inserts. The 1 inch square shank fits standard square-shank turning tool blocks and turret stations. Specific machine compatibility should be verified against turret pocket dimensions prior to installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC turning technician. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret. Verify that the turret pocket or tool block bore matches the 1 inch square shank dimensions before clamping. Torque all clamping screws and insert clamps according to the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder documentation before taking any cutting passes.
