The KENNAMETAL 1235768 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to No. 27 wire gauge (0.1440 inches diameter). It features a 130-degree standard point with web thinning for improved self-centering and reduced thrust on entry. The TiAlN coating supports heat resistance during dry or semi-dry cutting. With three regular spiral flutes and a straight cylindrical shank at 0.1875 inches, this drill is built for precision hole-making in difficult materials. It conforms to DIN 6537L and carries a K10 carbide grade designation. Cutting direction is right hand. Installation is performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in metalworking and production environments.
This drill is designed for use in cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. The three-flute geometry improves chip evacuation in these materials compared to standard two-flute designs. The web-thinned parallel web reduces cutting force at the drill tip, which is particularly useful when drilling tough or gummy alloys. Typical applications include precision through-holes and blind holes in production machining, aerospace component fabrication, and general metalworking where hole diameter tolerance is critical. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 0.8400 inches.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with collet chucks or drill chucks accepting a 0.1875-inch straight shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per manufacturer specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck to the tool manufacturer torque recommendation for the chuck type in use. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.8400 inches without retracting and clearing chips, particularly in deep-hole or blind-hole applications.
