The KENNAMETAL 1235380 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. It measures 11/64 inches (0.1719 inches) in diameter with a 130-degree point angle and a TiAlN coating that resists heat and wear during high-speed drilling operations. The three-flute, right-hand spiral design improves chip evacuation and surface finish compared to standard two-flute geometry. With an overall length of 2.91 inches and a flute length of 1.38 inches, this drill is suited for production environments where tool life and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC and manual drilling applications.
This drill bit is built for use in cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The web-thinned, parallel-web construction reduces entry force and improves centering on difficult-to-machine materials. A straight cylindrical shank measuring 3/16 inches (0.1875 inches) in diameter seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet holders. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 1.13 inches. It conforms to DIN 6537L specification and is graded K10 carbide, a grade commonly selected for non-ferrous and cast iron applications where cutting edge hardness and wear resistance are prioritized over toughness.
Designed for use in cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses configured for carbide tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck to prevent runout, which will accelerate carbide wear. Carbide drill bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be used in applications with significant side load or interrupted cuts without verifying suitability.
