The KENNAMETAL 1199424 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Ground to a 130-degree point angle with web thinning applied, it cuts cleanly through difficult materials including cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The bright, uncoated finish and K10 carbide grade make it well suited for applications where coating buildup or heat sensitivity would compromise hole quality. Three regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently and support stable cutting at elevated feed rates. Machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments are the primary installers of this tool.
This drill is sized at 11.50 mm diameter with a 12 mm straight cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard ER collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and similar toolholding systems common in CNC machining centers and drill presses. The 118.00 mm overall length and 71.00 mm flute length accommodate a maximum drilling depth of 56.00 mm. It conforms to DIN 6537L specification, which defines geometry and tolerance standards for long-series solid carbide drills. This drill does not have coolant-through capability, so external flood or mist coolant is recommended when drilling deep holes or running high feed rates in heat-generating materials.

This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC technicians. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the minimum clamping depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before running. Because this drill does not include coolant-through capability, use adequate external flood or mist coolant, especially when drilling deep or working high-temperature alloys, to prevent heat buildup and premature edge wear. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to damage if dropped or improperly stored.
