The KENNAMETAL 1198632 is a solid carbide die drill bit engineered for precision hole-making in demanding machining environments. Part of the B411 series, this straight-flute drill measures 0.3661 inches (9.30 mm) in diameter with an overall length of approximately 4.06 inches (103.00 mm) and a flute length of approximately 2.40 inches (61.00 mm). It features a 130-degree split point for accurate self-centering and a web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust load and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability via round coolant holes supports high-efficiency cutting with extended tool life. Cutting direction is right-hand with a bright finish and a diameter tolerance of plus 0.001 to plus 0.010 mm. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians install this bit in CNC machining centers and precision drill presses.
The 1198632 is designed for use in cast iron and non-ferrous metals, making it well suited for tool-and-die shops, production machining operations, and precision component manufacturing. The straight-flute configuration is appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole drilling where chip control and dimensional accuracy are critical. Maximum drilling depth is 1.93 inches (49.00 mm). The 10.00 mm shank diameter fits standard toolholders and collet systems compatible with that shank size.
Designed for use with cast iron and non-ferrous metal workpieces as stated by the manufacturer. Compatible with toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the Kennametal B411 series conforming to DIN 6537L.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the bit. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Confirm coolant-through connections are properly routed and supply pressure is appropriate for the application before initiating a drilling cycle.
