The KENNAMETAL 1198570 is a solid carbide straight-flute die drill bit engineered for precision drilling in cast iron and non-ferrous metals. Part of the Series B411 line, it features a 130-degree split point with web thinning for accurate entry and reduced thrust. The bright finish solid carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance in demanding production environments. At 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm) in diameter with a 6.00 mm shank, this bit is sized for die work and tight-tolerance applications. Internal coolant-through capability via a round coolant hole helps manage heat and clear chips during deep-hole operations. Installation is performed by machinists and tooling technicians working with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision die-making equipment.
This drill bit is suited for production and toolroom environments where consistent hole geometry is required in cast iron and non-ferrous metal workpieces. The straight-flute design supports controlled chip evacuation in materials that produce short chips. The right-hand cutting direction and web-thinned point reduce walking and improve entry accuracy. With a maximum drilling depth of 1.14 inches (29.00 mm) and a flute length of 36.00 mm, it handles typical die and mold drilling depths. The DIN 6537L specification ensures dimensional conformance for applications where interchangeability and tolerance stack-up matter.
Designed as a Series B411 OEM-style solid carbide die drill bit for use in toolholders and chucks accepting a 6.00 mm shank diameter, suitable for CNC machining centers and precision drill presses working cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are powered down and at rest before loading or changing the bit. Verify toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before drilling, as excess runout will accelerate carbide wear and degrade hole tolerance. Coolant-through capability should be connected to a clean, filtered coolant supply to prevent coolant-hole blockage and maintain thermal control during operation.
