The KENNAMETAL 1191260 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for precision metal removal in milling operations. Manufactured to ISO code 4.21503R615, this insert features an irregular shape with a positive rake geometry and a right-hand cutting orientation. The K110M grade solid carbide substrate is supplied bright and uncoated, making it well suited for applications where coating would reduce edge sharpness or alter dimensional tolerances. At 0.197 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.5906 inches, this is a single-sided insert secured by screw clamping. Licensed machinists and CNC milling technicians install this type of insert in compatible toolholders as part of routine insert indexing and replacement.
This insert is rated for use on cast iron and non-ferrous metals, corresponding to material grade codes K and N. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes depending on feed and speed parameters suited to K110M carbide. Typical installations include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling operations on machining centers and manual knee mills. The uncoated bright finish makes it particularly effective on non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, copper alloys, and brass where built-up edge on coated inserts can be a concern.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting ISO 4.21503R615 series inserts with a screw clamping interface. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes cast iron (K code) and non-ferrous metals (N code) such as aluminum and copper alloys.
Installation is performed by licensed machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified for the clamping screw to avoid stripping the screw or cracking the insert. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
