The KENNAMETAL 1184130 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation LFEW150324ERLN and manufactured to grade KC725M. It features a triple-layer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN applied over a solid carbide substrate, producing a hard, wear-resistant surface suited to interrupted cuts and high-speed face milling operations. The insert measures 0.6181 inches in length, 0.3752 inches wide, and 0.1299 inches thick, with a 0.0945-inch corner radius. The 90-degree included angle and right-hand orientation are machined to a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees with a 25-degree relief angle. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators install this insert in compatible toolholders on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, and S. The KC725M grade and LN chip breaker geometry work together to manage chip evacuation and thermal load at the cutting edge during demanding material removal applications. It is well suited to both roughing and finishing passes where consistent edge life across difficult workpiece materials is required. The screw-in holding method provides repeatable seating in the toolholder pocket, supporting accurate depth of cut and reducing insert movement under cutting forces.
Designed for use in LFEW-series toolholders accepting insert size code 2526 with a 0.1732-inch hole diameter. Compatible with toolholders specifying right-hand LFEW150324ERLN geometry and material grade classifications C5, C6, and C7.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert body. Inspect the toolholder pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert. Confirm insert hand orientation matches the toolholder designation before initiating a cut.
