It carries the KC730 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating, providing wear resistance across a range of ISO material groups including P10, P20, M10, M20, S10, and S20. The insert measures 0.375 inches in length, 0.25 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.125 inches thick, with a 0.005-inch corner radius and a parallelogram shape. It features four cutting edges and a negative rake geometry. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians as part of a screw-held tooling system.
This insert is suited for profiling and turning operations in production and job-shop environments. Its negative rake and 55-degree included angle make it appropriate for interrupted and continuous cuts on ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. The left-hand orientation and common chipbreaker configuration support chip control in standard turning center setups. It corresponds to ISO code KCGX110301L15 and meets the NPL505 standard, allowing straightforward identification and cross-referencing in tool management systems.

Insert replacement and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or insert fracture — do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or wear before mounting a new insert. Confirm insert hand orientation (left hand for this part) matches the toolholder before securing.
