The KENNAMETAL 1163034 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured in the T220F geometry with grade K68, this uncoated insert features a triangular shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.004-inch corner radius. The bright, uncoated carbide surface suits applications where coating adhesion would hinder chip flow or where sharp-edge integrity is critical. With a neutral hand orientation and screw-on holding method, it mounts securely in compatible toolholders for repeatable positioning. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments install this insert for finishing and light roughing passes.
This insert is suited for turning stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials, corresponding to ISO material groups M, K, and N. The F chip breaker geometry and positive rake promote controlled chip formation at moderate-to-high cutting speeds. It is appropriate for light-duty to medium-duty turning operations where wear resistance is the primary requirement.
