The KENNAMETAL 1162668 is a solid carbide turning insert in the KENDEX series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning, facing, and boring operations. It features a triangular (T) shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. The insert is coated with TiN via a PVD coating process for improved wear resistance. Neutral hand orientation and a positive rake angle make this a versatile choice for high-production turning work on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Three cutting edges are available per insert, extending tool life across multiple setups.

The 1162668 insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring applications in both production and job-shop environments. Its KC730 grade is engineered for high wear resistance to moderate toughness across steel (P class), stainless steel (M class), and cast iron (K class) workpiece materials.
